Expectations & Preparation
Will it hurt?
Fortunately for most people, the answer is "no". Occasionally, you may feel a pinch, but any discomfort is likely to be mild and short-lived.
How long does a treatment take?
Typically, it takes between 45-60 minutes. While there are many different theories, most often the needles are retained for 30 minutes. My clinical experience bears this out, in almost all but the most extreme circumstances. For some insights into why this is the right amount of time, you might enjoy reading this.
How many treatments before I notice some improvement?
Most pain, nausea, and headache patients feel some or substantial relief during the treatment. For others, the results may come within the first 24 hours.
How many treatments before my condition is resolved?
That varies greatly based on the patient and the condition. A big part of the first two visits is devoted to determining a reasonable care plan. Such a plan benefits greatly from knowing the results of the first treatment. Based on your condition and goals, we will formulate a plan to get you the best results in the shortest time.
