About The Acupuncturist

I graduated from the National College of Oriental Medicine in June of 2000. I couldn't wait to come home and open a practice. On August 4th, 2000, I received my North Carolina Acupuncture License. Over the years, I've performed thousands of treatments. I've treated infants and I've treated patients over 100. I've treated some of my childhood doctors, teachers, and schoolmates. There has never been a single patient or treatment that was just "routine" and there never will!

My focus is on treating the whole person, not just their complaints. My specialty is Pain, whether from injury, headaches, arthritis, repetitive strain, or internal illness. I have years of training with allergies, colds, nausea, digestive and eliminative disorders. I am passionate about helping people quit smoking and vaping. I've performed hundreds of labor inductions. Oriental Medicine is my passion and my purpose.

Beyond my clinical work, I am very active in continuing education, as a student, a teacher, and as a seminar host. I have held over 30 continuing education events, many with luminaries such as Alex Tiberi, Dr. Richard Tan, Dr. Jake Fratkin, Honora Lee Wolfe, and Dr. John Chen. I was fortunate to have filmed many of these events and have preserved those lectures as online video courses. If you are interested, you may watch the first part of eight courses for free on my YouTube Channel, SoEnlightening Productions.

I am credentialed by the National Acupuncture Board (NCCAOM) and the California State Acupuncture Board as a continuing education instructor. I have taught Smoking Cessation techniques and have lectured on a wide range of Chinese Herbal Medicines.

I've also been active on the administrative side of my profession. I served on the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board from 2009 - 2015. I spent four of those years as the Chair of the Rules Committee and one as Board Chair.
