The Sleep Inn: at 5225 Market Street has received good reviews from locals & tourists. Their phone # is (910) 313-6665 and they are about 8 miles from the seminar site. It is a very easy drive from there to the New Hanover County Library, despite the distance.

They were very accommodating for previous seminars. They are about 1.5 miles from the seminar. They do allow pets!

This hotel is also close to the seminar site and has a very good reputation. Ask if their "hit the road" rate applies, if so, you will save about $10 per night.
Generally, Market Street hotels are safe. That being said, some of them are known for being less than meticulous about cleanliness. Some are located in the midst of businesses that are not family friendly. A good rule of thumb is that any Market Street hotel with a street address less than 5100 is suspect.
