 About Me

What Should or Should I not do before an acupuncture treatment?

You Should:
  1. Wear loose clothing that allows access from the knees to the feet and from the elbows to the hands.
  2. Go to the restroom before treatment if you feel even the slightest need.
  3. Tell me about all your symptoms   pain, even if you are being treated for a different condition.
  4. Bring a favorite CD if you prefer it to the music I play.
  5. Continue taking your prescription medications per your doctor’s recommendations.
  6. Plan your activities so that after the treatment you can get some rest, or at least not have to be working at top performance. This is especially important for the first few visits.
You Should Not:
  1. Worry or be nervous. This is actually going to be pleasant.
  2. Come in Extremely Hungry, especially if you are hypoglycemic.
  3. Cancel an appointment due to cold, headache, or hangovers. These can be treated quite well.
  4. Eat an unusually large meal immediately before or after your treatment.
  5. Over-exert yourself, or consume alcoholic beverages within 6 hours before or after the treatment.
