Your first appointment is a special, getting-to-know-you process. It starts like a typical office visit to your family doctor, with a thorough medical history questionnaire. After that, we ask you a series of questions that deal with your diet, energy level, sleep, habits, work, recreation, and home life. It is not enough to know what your current condition is we want to know how you got there and where you are heading. Traditional Chinese medicine is truly holistic, seeking to understand disease within the context of the individual.
Typically, the first appointment takes between sixty to ninety minutes. As with everything in TCM, it varies with the individual. If possible, budget about ninety minutes to two hours for your first appointment. This includes the time you’ll need to fill out the intake form. Follow up appointments are shorter, approximately 30-45 minutes. Depending on the condition and the patient, some appointments are as short as 15 minutes. If you have special time constraints, please let the receptionist know this when you book your appointment. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your schedule.
Office hours are from 9am – 5:30pm; Monday – Friday. The latest appointments start at 5:00 pm for a new patient and 5:30pm for returning patients.
